The Stettler Town and County Museum marked a half-century of preserving local history on Monday, celebrating its 50th anniversary alongside its annual Heritage Expo.
Held in conjunction with Alberta Heritage Day on August 3, the event invited community members to step back in time with a full day of historical demonstrations, family entertainment, and museum displays.
The day began with a pancake breakfast at the museum held by council members from both the Town and County of Stettler.
Visitors to the museum village experienced pioneer-era crafts firsthand, including traditional loom spinning and hay pressing.
The grounds also featured a handful of livestock, restored antique vehicles, speeder train rides, and treats like cotton candy and balloons.
The milestone celebration for the museum which opened its doors in 1976 capped off with the draw for two community raffles.
According to museum organizers, Ron S. was drawn as the winner of the Minneapolis-Moline tractor, while Kami Ritz took home the custom fire pit.
