With the Steel Wheel Stampede no longer taking place, the Town of Stettler has opted to move its annual pancake breakfast to the morning of Canada Day.
Traditionally held on the second Saturday in June to coincide with the rodeo, the breakfast will now take place on July 1, prior to the start of the Canada Day parade.
Following the meal, councillors will head to the parade staging area at West Stettler Park for the 10 a.m. kickoff.
Canada Day festivities will continue throughout the day, with events beginning at 11 a.m. at the Stettler Town and Country Museum.
Cupcakes and live music will follow at 7 p.m. in West Stettler Park, leading into the community’s annual fireworks display.
