Hangars at the Stettler Airport

A new automated security gate will be installed at the Stettler Airport to better control access to the facility.

Council heard during their Aug. 19 meeting that increasing security at the airport was identified as a priority in the 2022 airport master plan.

Quotes for a gate system were received from Q and Q Fencing at $11,314 and Command Gate at $12,200.

The 2025 airport operating budget included $10,000 for runway repairs and $3,000 for equipment hiring.

As repaving work was already done on the runway in 2024, council chose to redirect those funds to the gate project & award the tender to Q and Q Fencing for $11,314, excluding GST.

Once installed, each hangar tenant will be provided with a unique code for the gate, to track who is entering & exiting the premises.
