Update – Apr. 28, 2026: County of Stettler officials say a water leak that triggered a community alert Monday afternoon has been identified & contained.

Residents were asked to inspect their homes for potential leaks following an unexplained surge in wastewater volume.

The county warned the excess volume was straining municipal infrastructure.

Residents were instructed to check for dampness, pooling, or the sound of running water where main lines enter their homes.

By 3:38 p.m., officials confirmed the leak had been located and the water shut off at the affected site.

The county thanked homeowners for their quick assistance in resolving the matter.

Anyone who still identifies suspicious moisture is encouraged to contact the public works department to arrange an inspection.
