The Stettler Wildcats football team played a lot of football in October, but couldn’t claw their way to a victory.
The Wildcats played their first home game of the schedule against Sylvan Lake on October 3. The final score from that one was 50-7 in favour of the Lakers.
On October 10, the Wildcats were at home once again. This game was delayed by almost two hours because the referees didn’t show up. Turns out there was a mix-up with the schedule.
Luckily, one carded referee made the drive to Stettler and a handful of volunteers with experience coaching or refereeing football put on striped shirts and helped officiate the football game. That night the Wildcats lost 31-6.
After that, the Wildcats went back on the road and wrapped up the season with a 24-7 loss in Camrose and a 28-7 loss in Lacombe.
