Repair work will begin on the Scollard Road bridge after a collision in early December. On Dec 9, a vehicle believed to be traveling southbound struck the east curb & bridge rail, taking out five of the post anchors & railings.

The cost to repair the posts is estimated at nearly $45,000, as traffic on Scollard Road south of Big Valley will be reduced to one lane. Repair work has been pushed back until the weather warms up, after a new cement deck was laid on the 59 year old bridge in 2024.
Council heard the bridge is set for either major rehab or replacement in 2028, after an investigation confirmed timber rot in the piles after the collision.
