Members of both Stettler councils will meet on Monday, September 15 for a public hearing on an updated intermunicipal development plan.
The hearing will begin at 6 p.m. at the Stettler Community Hall, before second & third readings are considered.
The plan sets out a framework for how the two municipalities will coordinate growth and manage development decisions that may affect each other.
Officials say the plan takes a 50-year view of future development & outlines policies for land use compatibility, infrastructure, and dispute resolution.
Goals include managing growth in both municipalities, distributing development opportunities, supporting employment & expanding the tax base.
The document also emphasizes the preservation of natural areas, coordination of municipal infrastructure, and processes for ongoing communication.
