Stettler Town Council Maintains Business Licence Rates for 2026

The Town of Stettler council has approved keeping business licence fees unchanged for 2026.

During its Dec. 2 meeting, council maintained the existing annual rates of $150 for resident businesses & $350 for non-resident operators. 

Administration reported 567 active licences as of Nov. 20, including 454 commercial, 51 home occupations and 62 non-resident businesses. 

Based on 2025 figures, the town projects potential revenue of about $97,450 from licence fees next year.

A review found Stettler’s fees remain in line with other municipalities across the province. 

The fees were last adjusted in 2013, when the resident rate rose from $125 & the non-resident rate increased from $325.

2026 Business Tax Fees

Councillors also confirmed the annual tax for professional businesses such as medical clinics, chiropractic offices & banks will remain at $150 next year.

Administration reported 40 active business tax rolls as of Nov. 26.  

Based on 2025 numbers, the fee is expected to generate about $6,000 in revenue in 2026.

The business tax rate was last adjusted in 2013, when council increased it from $125.
