County of Stettler Approves 2026 Interim Operating Budget

The County of Stettler council has approved an interim operating budget for 2026 to ensure the municipality can continue day to day operations into the new year.

Council passed the motion during its Dec. 10 meeting, adopting the 2025 operating budget as the interim budget for 2026. 

The measure allows the county to issue payments, cover expenses & payroll after Dec. 31, 2025, until a budget is formally adopted in the new year.

Administration told the council while work on the 2026 budget continues with presentations expected in January.

The previous County council approved a nearly $29.8-million operating budget during its first regular meeting on Jan. 8, 2025.
