The Stettler Community Hall is getting a dining upgrade following a $3,000 donation from a local theatre group, which was accepted by town council at its May 19 meeting.

The funds, provided by the Heartland Arts Troupe Society (HATS), will be used to purchase 400 new dinner plates for the facility.

According to a council report, the donation addresses feedback from event organizers regarding mismatched plates.

The Parks & Leisure department recently upgraded the facility’s silverware in response to similar feedback.

The theatre troupe requested the new dinnerware be in place ahead of its upcoming annual production at the hall.

Coin. Wayne Smith noted HATS is expanding its performance schedule this year to a five-night run, adding a Tuesday evening performance that will kick off on Nov. 10.
