Stettler Town Council has awarded its 2026 sidewalk replacement tender, splitting the funds between two contractors at its June 16 meeting.

The bulk of the funding was awarded to Collins Concrete & Bobcat Services Ltd., for the sidewalk replacement tender with a bid of $90,380.00, excluding GST.

Council approved a total expenditure of up to $105,000 to replace miscellaneous sections of concrete around the community.

Town administration noted that Collins Concrete is a familiar face, having recently served as the subcontractor for sidewalk work at the fire hall last year.

Alongside the concrete work, council greenlit $20,000 for refurbishment of the red paving stones near the downtown core, particularly around the post office.

That contract was awarded to Greg Patterson. The scope of work involves pulling up the existing bricks, leveling the underlying ground with sand, and relaying them to eliminate tripping hazards.

The combined cost of both projects hits the town’s $125,000 budget target, with all funding drawn from the approved 2026 Capital Budget.
