County of Stettler Press Release:
New directory, grants and training resources will support local businesses, agricultural producers, non-profits, residents and visitors beginning June 30.
The County of Stettler No. 6 is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of three new online resources designed to support local businesses, agricultural producers, non-profit organizations, residents, visitors and those doing business in the County of Stettler.
The new resources will be available at www.StettlerCounty.ca on June 30, and will include:
• County of Stettler Business & Services Directory
• Grants & Funding Resources
• Training Resources
These tools were developed in partnership with the County’s project contractor, C4ner Consulting, following consultation with local County businesses, agricultural producers, business owners and community partners as well as feedback received through online surveys.
Through this consultation process the County heard Stettler County businesses and organizations were looking for easier ways to be found, better access to funding information, and a clearer starting point for training, workforce and business support resources.
“The County of Stettler is committed to supporting rural economic development and helping local businesses, organizations and producers access practical tools and information,” said Reeve Larry Clarke.
“These new online resources are intended to improve visibility, make information easier to find and support the people who live, work, invest and do business in the County of Stettler.”
The County of Stettler Business & Services Directory will help residents, visitors and those doing business in the County find local businesses, services, accommodations, campgrounds, food providers, trades, agricultural services, professional supports and more.
Businesses that did not complete our survey are invited to visit the County website and submit a request to be added to the Business Directory. There is no charge to be on this directory.
The Grants & Funding Resources section provides a starting point for businesses, agricultural producers, nonprofit organizations and community groups looking for funding opportunities.
While it is not intended to be a complete list of every program available, it will offer helpful links and resources to support further research.
The Training Resources section will connect businesses, employers, entrepreneurs and organizations with training providers, business development supports, workforce resources and skills development opportunities.
Together, these resources are intended to make information easier to find, increase local rural business visibility, and strengthen rural economic development across the County of Stettler.
Who Can Be Included in the County of Stettler Business & Services Directory?
The County of Stettler Business & Services Directory is intended to promote County businesses, services and County business owners who reside in the County of Stettler No. 6.
It was created to help our residents, visitors, businesses and those doing business in the County find services that may be located right down the road.
Businesses and services may be included if they meet one or more of the following criteria:
• The business owner resides in the County of Stettler and would like to promote their business or service.
• The business operates in the County of Stettler No. 6.
• The business operates within one of the villages or summer villages located within our County region, including Big Valley, Donalda, Rochon Sands or White Sands.
The directory also includes service providers located within the Town of Stettler that residents, visitors, seasonal residents or those doing business in the County may need to access, such as food services, accommodations, health care and essential supports.
Businesses located outside the County of Stettler region are encouraged to be listed in their own community’s business directory.
Where appropriate, the County has included links to neighbouring community business directories. Residents, business owners and community partners are encouraged to explore the new resources when they launch at the end of June, share them with others and help the County continue to build and improve the directory and tools over time.
The launch of these resources marks the first phase of a larger project. The second phase, the County of Stettler Investment and Attraction website, is scheduled to launch this fall.
This site will provide additional information, data, mapping, community resources and investment-focused content for businesses, developers, entrepreneurs and investors interested in opportunities in the County of Stettler.
