The County of Stettler has approved a $12,000 contract to repaint nearly 30 kilometres of faded road centrelines.
Council voted in favour of hiring Emcon Services Inc. during its June 16 meeting for the project which has been stripped from the operating budget during the past three budget cycles.
Administration noted it has been more than five years since the county last undertook a centreline marking renewal program.
An inspection in May 2026 found roughly 28.85 kilometres of asphalt roads in the county where the lines were in “very poor” or faded condition, according to a council report.
By partnering with Emcon, the county expects the work to be completed during the first week of July.
