The Town of Stettler council has given the green light to buy a new tandem dump truck & speed plow.

During its April 7 meeting, council awarded a tender to Bosch Truck Group Ltd. for a total cost of $317,429.25, excluding GST.

The purchase will be funded through the 2026 capital budget.

Administration noted the fleet of four units is seeing increased demand due to recent addition of snow plowing at the Stettler Airport.

The 2026 budget had originally allocated $360,000 for the unit.

The approved deal with Bosch Truck Group includes a $298,099 base price after the trade-in of an existing tandem truck.

Council also approved several upgrades for the vehicle, including a five-year extended warranty, an intake hydraulic oil heater, remote grease lines & snow boards for the dump truck & plow.
