The County of Stettler is putting two of its older gravel and plow trucks on the auction block this fall following the arrival of new fleet replacements earlier this year.

County council voted at its Aug. 12 meeting to approve the sale of two surplus trucks: a 2012 Kenworth T800 and a 2013 Kenworth T800, both equipped with sandboxes.

The timed auction, managed by Premier Auctions Ltd., is set for Sept. 29.

Council originally approved the purchase of a single Freightliner plow and sanding truck from Viking Cives Ltd. in February 2025 for $375,923.

However, elected officials revised the decision a month later, opting to purchase two units at a discounted price of $371,696 each.

The new Freightliners arrived in the spring of 2026, allowing administration to sell the older Kenworth trucks.
