Remembrance Day ceremonies will be held at the Stettler Agri-plex this year instead of the Performing Arts Centre.

Stettler’s annual Remembrance Day service is moving to a more accessible venue to better accommodate seniors.

Organizers have confirmed that this year’s Nov. 11 ceremony will be held at the Stettler Agri-plex, moving away from the Performing Arts Centre at Wm. E. Hay School.

Marj Savage, with the Stettler & District Agricultural Society, said the decision to relocate the event was driven primarily by accessibility and capacity concerns during recent commemorations.

She explained that the layout of the P-A-C created barriers for elderly attendees, noting the high number of steps at the facility.

Furthermore, capacity issues meant the venue struggled to comfortably seat all of the community members wishing to attend.

More details are expected to be shared on social media as the Nov. 11 date approaches.
