Stettler residents can look forward to flapjacks on Canada Day after town council approved plans to host its annual pancake breakfast on July 1.

The festivities will launch with the town-hosted breakfast, running from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., before the annual Canada Day parade hits the streets at 10 a.m

Following the parade, action shifts to the Stettler Town & Country Museum, which is opening its doors with free admission from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The museum will also have mini-golf, bouncy castles, a puppet show, face painting, and outdoor games.

The celebration moves to West Stettler Park for the evening, and will conclude with a fireworks display at 11 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.

Prior to 2025, the town and county partnered to host a joint breakfast in early June to kick off the Steel Wheel Stampede.

However, the County of Stettler moved its own fair to the end of July.

The town will also extend an invitation to county councillors to join them in the kitchen to help serve meals.
