County officials say the downpours over the start of the summer have dumped a staggering amount of rain on the region.
Staff reported in July that measurements ranging between 12 and 18 inches have fallen on the area since May 31, with some areas of the county seeing upwards of 22 inches this year.
Officials noted that the rainfall accumulation over a single month exceeds what parts of the region have received over the previous three years combined.
While council was told the road infrastructure held up well, staff highlighted emerging concerns regarding the back walls on a couple of area bridges.
Officials explained the sudden influx of water flow following a prolonged period without moisture has led to erosion behind the back walls, causing the gravel to loosen and wash away.
Ratepayer-funded MG-30 dust suppressant applications were also completed at the end of June, with staff noting the showers assisted the process by helping ensure aggregate materials were wet enough prior to application.
The county also credited its ratepayer requests portal as a vital tool for tracking resident concerns to complete repairs as quickly as possible.
