Red Willow was a hub of activity on Sunday, July 26 as folks gathered for the rescheduled Father’s Day Fair.
Athletic rivalries took center stage during the events, which featured three legged races, as well as rounds of log sawing, pail milking, and bale throwing.
For younger attendees, the afternoon featured a petting zoo, a dunk tank, and was capped off by a crowd-favorite pie-eating contest.
The day also saw a special guest appearance by Otis the Owl of the Medicine River Wildlife Centre.
Event organizers were forced to adjust plans for one of the fair’s attractions for a tethered hot air balloon on the ground, as the one that was brought was unable to be used.
Rather than canceling entirely, operators opened up the equipment to allow visitors to walk inside.
The Ag Society extended its thanks to the volunteers and sponsors who helped with the event, adding that feedback and ideas are being welcomed for next year.
